Homemade Recipe: Twix Edition
Hey friends, so if you haven’t noticed but I’m a pretty big chocolate lover and anything chocolate related I’m there. So you can just imagine the excitement when I heard there’s a homemade recipe for TWIX???? DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!? ‘Cause I didn’t and I love Twix I think it’s the perfect combinations of flavors and chocolately goodness. So here we go, this recipe is pretty simple but there are three parts to it (a part for each layer).
Let’s begin!
What you need:
For the bottom part: (Short bread):
½ solid coconut oil
3 table spoons maple syrup
¼ Teaspoon kosher salt
2/3 cup coconut flour
2 Teaspoons Leaner Creamer Original
2nd Part CARAMEL!
¼ Teaspoon Kosher Salt
½ Cup Almond Butter (Creamy butter preferred)
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
½ Cup Maple Syrup
½ Cup Melted Coconut Oil
3rd Part: CHOCOLATE
¼ Cup Melted Coconut Oil
2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
½ Teaspoon Flakey Sea Salt (Optional)
¼ Cup Cocoa Powder
2 Tablespoons Leaner Creamer
What you need to do:
1- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2- Grease an 8x8 pan with coconut oil. Or use parchment paper.
3- Using Part One ingredients (SHORT BREAD) In a bowl, combine the coconut flour and salt. Add the maple syrup and stir until everything is fully combined. Add the solid coconut oil and mix into large balls. Pro tip: it’s easier to use your hands to make the ball form while pressing out the clumps of coconut oil.
5- Once the dough is prepared press the dough onto the pan. Bake for about 10 – 11 minutes. Let cool completely.
6- Using the CARAMEL INGREDIENTS: Using a small saucepan combine all the ingredients and using medium heat until all ingredients are melted and completely combined. (make sure your short bread is cool before doing this): Pour over the crust and let it cool in the refrigerator until it’s set. (This will take about 2-4 hours depending).
7- Using the CHOCOLATE INGREDIENTS: Whisk all the ingredients and pour over the caramel layer. Make sure to spread evenly. You can sprinkle the sea salt over the chocolate. Once again you have to let it cool until it’s set.
8- Slice into squares. And keep in the refrigerator.
9- ENJOY!!!!
