Trick-or-Treating Tips
HALLOWEEN!!
The one night where kids get to dress up as whoever they want and get free candy that their parents will let them eat!
What could get better than that?
Here’s the thing, we understand that Halloween is a fun night for children, but we also know that it is a bit worrisome for parents, since there are many outside factors involved. So, here are some trick-or-treating tips that will be sure to lift some stress off the shoulders of all you parents out there:
1 Candy Route Planning the candy route in advance offers parents a sense of security in knowing the roads that they and their children will be walking on, on Halloween night. Also, knowledge of the route can prevent anyone from getting lost or arguments from arising.
2 Candy Inspection Everyone loves candy, but when receiving it from strangers, it needs to be checked! Parents, be on the lookout for those tiny little hands trying to reach into their bag of treats for a snack. When you get home, make sure to check for any candies that are not in their original wrapper or that could be seen as a choking hazard and throw them out.
3 Light Days are turning into night a lot earlier these days since we have entered the fall season, so it is important to bring a flashlight with you on Halloween night to help light up the roads. With a well-lit surrounding, it will prevent you from splitting with your group and getting injured!
4 Shoes Trick or treating involves a lot of walking so be prepared by wearing walking shoes or ones that are comfortable and offer your feet support to help you get through the night.
5 Stay In A Group Remember when going out this Halloween that there is always strength in numbers, so if your child says that they want to go alone, remind them that it is for their safety. If your child is at an age where they can go off on their own, make sure that they are going with a group of trustable friends.
