We all know that it's important to eat right and work out to stay lean. But what about the little things that add up day to day? People who make small, healthy lifestyle changes are more likely to stick to their fitness plan over those who try to make drastic changes all at once. Here are a few easy changes anyone can make to get you that much closer to your goal!
Say yes to water and no to soda
Soft-drinks have tons of sugar, calories, and processed ingredients that make them detrimental to your health, no matter what your fitness goals are. Unless you want to feel sluggish and bloated, cutting out soft drinks and replacing them with tea and water to hydrate your body will help you feel and look great!
Get your beauty rest
Instead of staying up late and wondering why you're so exhausted in the morning, go to bed an hour or two earlier to get in a full night's sleep. Sleeping enough helps to boost your immune system, gives you energy to power through your workouts, and helps allow your body to heal. If it's difficult for you to go to bed at a reasonable hour, try going to bed 15 minutes earlier every night until you are sleeping enough!
Find small ways to work out
Park further in the parking lot when you're going to the store so you have to walk a longer distance. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Do squats while you watch TV. Find little ways to move your body, and you'll reach your fitness goals before you know it!
Don't grocery shop while you're hungry
That bag of chips is bound to look extra tempting when you're belly is grumbling. You'll make smarter shopping decisions if you grocery shop after lunch or dinner, so you have the willpower to say no to buying junk food.
Drink a cup of water before you start your day
This should be one of the first things that you do in the morning when you wake up. When you sleep, your body is expelling water without intaking it. Stave of dehydration by drinking a glass right when you wake up to hydrate yourself and get your metabolism kicked into gear right off the bat.
