Hey friends, how are y’all? (I hope you’re doing really well!) You’re in for a treat, this recipe is quite simple to use. Now I decided to not really alter this recipe because I realized that there could be a lot of different variations to meet your dietary needs. For example, this recipe calls for butter but I’ll leave it up to you to decide if you’d like to substitute it with olive oil, apple sauce or anything else that can be used. But overall, it’s a really easy recipe that serves 6!
What you need:
Apple filling:
3 – 4 Large Granny Smith Apples (Peeled & Sliced thin)
3 Tablespoons Butter (Melted)
1 Tablespoon Leaner Creamer Original
2 Tablespoon Flour
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
3 Tablespoon Milk
½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
¼ Cup Brown Sugar
½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
Dash of Salt
For the Crumb Topping:
¼ Cup Flour
½ Cup Old Fashioned Oats
½ Cup Brown Sugar
½ Teaspoon Baking Powder
¼ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
Dash of Salt
1/3 Cup Unsalted Butter (cut in small chunks)
What you need to do:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Using a medium sized bowl combine all the crumb topping ingredients using a fork. Continue to mix until the mixture become crumb-like.
Place the crumb mixture into the refrigerator while you begin to prepare the apple filling.
You can use a small bowl for the apple filling!
Combine butter, flour, and leaner creamer until it’s mixed. Add lemon juice, vanilla, and milk. Stir.
Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. (Make sure everything is mixed well, before moving on).
Pour the mixture over the sliced apples, and toss to coat.
Pour the apple mixture onto an 8x8 inch baking dish and spread the apple mixture to create an even layer.
Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
Bake for 30 – 35 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven, and allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving!
Enjoy! (BTW you can totally enjoy this with some ice cream if you choose to!)
