Winter is a time of many travel plans. Whether you're traveling to see family, or heading to a warmer destination to beat the winter chill, staying healthy on a plane can sometimes prove to be a difficult feat in and of itself! Here are our best tips to stay healthy even while traveling by plane, right here!
1. Drink water.
It can be difficult to remember to stay hydrated on a plane ride. With the dry cabin air, it is easy for your body to get dehydrated. Make sure to ask the flight attendant for cups of water so that your body can function optimally. Or even better -- purchase a big bottle of water at a kiosk before you step on to your flight.
2. Try to get some shut eye.
If you bring an eye mask and a neck support pillow, it would behoove you to try to get some sleep on the flight. Not only does this make the flight pass faster, but you also can help your immune system by getting adequate sleep.
3. Wash your hands.
Make sure to prevent the spread of germs to yourself and others by washing your hands often! Touching bacteria and then touching your face can spread illness and make you sick.
4. Bring hand sanitizer.
If convenience is more up your alley, then perhaps think about bringing a travel sized hand sanitizer on your trip. That way you can disinfect yourself from wherever you are!
5. Bring healthy snacks.
Eating at regular times and providing your body with good nutrition is a wonderful way to help your body stay healthy and fight off illness. Try something portable and healthy, like nuts, fruit, or raw veggies to munch on.
6. Boost your immune system.
You could always give your body a boost by popping an Airborne or throwing some emergen-c into your water before the ride. They're portable and cheap, and very travel friendly!
