So cut out the bad and keep the good with a 3 ingredient banana ice cream recipe. Simply toss one frozen banana, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, and 1/8 tablespoon of vanilla in a blender and voila! Ice cream that tastes great but that doesn't pack in too much sugar or calories!
Craving Fries?
Instead: Baked Sweet Potato Fries.
Fries before guys, right ladies? Sweet potato fries are the best way to secretly eat vegetables in a way that tastes great. Slice one sweet potato into strips, coat with just enough olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper. Spread on a prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes at 450 degrees. Tastes amazing, and it's a way healthier option to standard french fries.
Craving Chips?
Instead: Sliced Veggies and Salsa.
Chips and salsa are a classic snack. I mean, what tastes better than tortilla chips with some fresh salsa? Salsa itself is actually a great, healthy snack dip, but chips are less so. Instead of reaching for a bag of chips to go with your dip, try slicing up a variety of veggies, like jicama, cucumbers, or celery. These veggies contain that crave-worthy crunch that makes us drool, and is insanely healthy for you!
Craving White Rice?
Instead: Cauliflower Rice + White Rice mixture.
White rice goes with almost any cuisine. But, it's essentially empty calories, so why not spice it up with some nutrition that tastes great? Mix cauliflower rice in with your white rice to sneak in a much needed serving of veggies. You can get cauliflower rice pre-made, or make your own by simply throwing a head of cauliflower into your food processor and blending.
Craving Pasta?
Instead: Spaghetti Squash.
Pasta is the holy grail of comfort dinners because it can be prepared in so many ways. Classic spaghetti and meatballs, macaroni and cheese, light parmesan and butter... the possibilities are endless. Replace pasta noodles with spaghetti squash to get that same texture and taste of regular pasta, but with a healthy boost of nutrition!
