Leaner Creamer Sufganiyah
This time of year, we experience an assortment of holiday cheer through Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, and other special events around the world. With those special times comes an even more important element: FOOD!!!
What is sufganiyah? Simply put, sufganiyah a round jelly doughnut made and eaten on the Jewish festival of Hannukah. Traditionally it's deep fried to commemorate the miracle associated with the Temple oil. For those of us looking to eat cleaner, there are certainly ways to create this dish with healthy in mind. In the tradition of the holiday and to honor our CEO's family, we kept with the old custom!
We are very proud that Leaner Creamer is kosher, and what better way to celebrate than to incorporate it into a Jewish holiday staple? There are SO MANY ways to make this traditional dish - you can bake or fry, make your own dough, create your own filling... however you make sufganiyah for the holidays, be sure to share and enjoy!
LEANER CREAMER SUFGANIYAH
Biscuit Dough(you're welcomed to make your own!)
Canola oil
Coconut Flour(or your preferred flour)
Leaner Creamer and Cinnamon for dusting
1/2 cup desired filling(we used a strawberry honey jam!)
Dust your surface with flour and place out your dough
Sprinkle desired amounts of Cinnamon and Leaner Creamer onto dough
Roll dough until it's about 1/2-inch thick
Cut out pieces using a Leaner Creamer lid to create 3" circles
Form into dough balls
Fill pot with 2" Canola Oil and keep on med-high to high heat
Fry dough to a deep brown color
Pull off heat and let cool and dry on room temp surface
Using a squeeze bottle, fill with desired filling
Dust the top with cinnamon and Leaner Creamer
