Lowest Calorie Cocktails
We're not just coffee lovers here at Leaner Creamer... we also love a good cocktail. After all, how else are you supposed to survive the holidays with your crazy extended family without a little liquid fun in your cup? Alcohol isn't exactly known to be the most calorie conscious option on the market, but have no fear, cocktail drinkers! These low-calorie options are just as delicious as they are potent. And if you want to go back for seconds (or thirds), don't worry, it'll be our little secret ;)
1. Mojito (150 calories): Muddle 10 fresh mint leaves and lime juice of half a lime in a cup. Add 2 tablespoons of white sugar and continue muddling. Fill the glass with ice, and add white rum. Fill the remainder of the cup with club soda.
2. Tequila Soda (100 calories): It doesn't get much more low-cal than a tequila soda. Tequila is low-glycemic in comparison to other alcohols, making this a favorite amongst nutritionists. And since club soda is calorie free, you can ditch the guilt on this cocktail! What's even better? It's extremely easy to make -- just mix tequila and club soda in a glass for a classic and clean taste, or add in tasty garnishes like cucumber or lime to spice things up in a healthy way!
3. Wine Spritzer (50 calories): Add together one part wine to three parts seltzer water for a refreshing beverage that won't leave you hungover the next day.
4. Light Margarita (100 calories): Put ice in a glass and add lime juice, tequila, and seltzer. Slice cucumbers and mix. Rim with cayenne pepper and salt, and enjoy!
5. Mimosa: Ah, a classic! 110 calories. And could it get any simpler to make? Simply add a little (or a lot) of champagne into a glass and top with orange juice. Cheers!
